Drug Mafia Links in Thiruvalla Girl’s Kidnapping

Unveiling the Dark Influence and Temptations Behind the Abduction

Kottayam: The accused, arrested for kidnapping a 9th-grade girl using the Instagram account to make a friendship, has been brought to the Tiruvalla police station. Atul, Ajil and Jayaraj, natives of Thrissur Anthikad, were transported to Thiruvalla. Jayaraj was arrested for aiding the accused.

Police Investigation and Rescue

They abducted a student who had appeared for an exam at a private school in Tiruvalla. Atul, who was close to the girl, surrendered after bringing her near the Tiruvalla police station around 4 am today. He was apprehended by police in Muvattupuzha while on his way on the KSRTC bus. Police said the girl had befriended Atul on Instagram. After a highly skilled investigation using the cyber cell, police tangled the accused for several hours. Police suspect the three arrested men have links to drug mafias, including MDMA.

On instructions from Tiruvalla DySP S Ashad, SHO BK Sunil Krishna led a team including SIs VS Srinath, SS Rajeev, PL Vishnu, C Alex, ASI Jojo Joseph and CPOs Avinash and Vineesh. The girl reached the Tiruvalla station around 4:30 am. Police took decisive measures to catch the two young men who had brought her there before fleeing.

The girl’s family learned of her disappearance when she did not return home after her exam. Police then began investigating soon after receiving a missing complaint from the girl’s parents. They collected CCTV footage of the youth. While returning from the KSRTC bus after leaving the girl at the station, Atul was arrested by police in Muvattupuzha.

Public Assistance and Statewide Search:

After the girl went missing yesterday, police released a video of her and the youth travelling by bus. It showed two young men boarding with the missing girl at the Kuttapuzha bus stop. It triggered a statewide search for the girl, and after realizing they would be caught, the youths brought her to the station.

The footage also showed the trio disembarking at a bus stop in Thiruvalla city. After the girl did not return home even past noon after going to school, her mother unsuccessfully searched the school and tuition class. She then approached the police. When confirmed she had not gone to relatives’ houses, police checked the area’s CCTV footage. This showed the girl talking to two boys.

Based on this, police sought public assistance by releasing the images as part of the probe. After police released the bus footage and pictures of the youths, the girl appeared at the police station.

Police Diligence

Thus, the diligent efforts of the Tiruvalla police bore fruit in tracing the missing schoolgirl and apprehending her captors. Their skilled use of technology and decisive coordination led to cracking a case that initially seemed bewildering. The accused attempted to evade justice by returning the girl but ultimately surrendered in the face of an unrelenting investigation. As harrowing as the experience must have been for the young victim, she can now begin recovering surrounded by her loved ones.

The men allegedly responsible will face charges of kidnapping an innocent child. This case underscores the dark side of social media and the need for vigilance when befriending strangers online. More broadly, it is a testament to the determination of the police force to trace missing children and bring culprits to account. With the mystery solved and the girl safely home, Tiruvalla can rest more easily, thanks to those who never stopped searching.
