Sports Ministry Takes Swift Action Over Alleged Disregard for Norms and Controversial Leadership Changes

The Sports Ministry has suspended the recently-elected body of the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI). Citing concerns about its close ties to former office-bearers and a heinous disregard for legal and procedural norms. The committee, led by Sanjay Singh, a confidant of former WFI chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, came under fire for assuming control in controversial circumstances after long-delayed elections.
