Fatal Affair Leads to Tragedy: Police Arrests Shed Light on Mobile-Centric Investigation

Dehradun: A 25-year-old man was having an affair with the wife of a policeman and threatened her by showing her obscene footage of being killed by the police officers under the pretext of the Haldwani riots. The youth’s body was buried alongside the bodies of those who died in the riots. Prakash Kumar was killed by Police Constable Birender Singh. The incident took place on February 8 in the Bhojpur district of Bihar.

Unveiling the Sinister Plot

The body of Prakash Kumar was also present in hospital, along with the bodies of those who died in the Haldwani riots. Police found his mobile phone near the dead body. The murder unraveled during the investigation, which focused on his mobile phone. Police have also implicated Birender Singh, his wife Priyanka, his brother-in-law Suraj Bain, and his relatives Prem Singh and Naim Khan.

Echoes of Deception and Manipulation

Birender Singh’s wife had an extra-marital affair with Prakash Kumar. He constantly threatened them with videos of the two together, which led to the murder. Nainital SSP Prahlad Meena stated that a group, including Birender Kumar, his wife, and brother-in-law, planned the murder.

Upon checking Kumar’s phone calls, the police discovered he was constantly conversing with a person in Uddamsingh Nagar. In the investigation conducted by the police, it became clear that it was Birender Singh’s brother-in-law, Suraj Bain. Bain told police that he had been friends with Kumar for two years,” said Prahlad Meena. According to the investigating officers, Prakash Kumar had a close relationship with Bain’s sister Priyanka. Prakash Kumar was constantly threatening them for money by showing private videos of both of them together.

Priyanka did not tell anyone about this video till February 7. Prakash Kumar called Birender Singh and told him about this video. Afterward, Birender Singh asked his wife Priyanka to call Prakash Kumar and tell him to come to Haldwani on February 8. Then Birender Singh killed him,” said Prahlad Meena. Birender Singh cremated his dead body in Banphoolpura under the cover of the Haldwani riot.

In conclusion, the harrowing tale of betrayal and violence that unfolded in Dehradun serves as a stark reminder of the complexities and dangers lurking beneath seemingly ordinary facades. As the community grapples with the aftermath of this tragic event, there is a collective call for justice and accountability. Yet, amidst the darkness, there remains a glimmer of hope. It’s a hope for transparency, for healing, and for a renewed commitment to safeguarding the sanctity of trust and human life. Only through continued vigilance and a steadfast pursuit of truth can we hope to prevent such tragedies from tarnishing our communities in the future.
