Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra Kickoff: Rahul Gandhi Embarks on a 6,200-Kilometer Journey from Manipur Today

Controversy, Determination, and Political Significance Mark the Start of this Transformative Odyssey

Rahul Gandhi is scheduled to start the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra today. It’s the move that has changed expectations and generated controversy. The long journey starts in the Thoubal district of Manipur and ends in Mumbai. The Yatra covers 6,200 kilometers during the two-month trip. Originally planned to commence from the capital, Imphal, the Yatra will now kick off at noon from the historic Khongjom War Memorial. The change is at a starting point amid the Manipur government’s denial of permission.

Delays and Contentions
Scheduled to begin on the expansive Hapta Kangjeibung public ground, the Yatra faced unexpected delays due to initial permission denial by the state government. Congress’s Manipur president, Keisham Meghachandra, disclosed that despite proposing the venue on January 2, it took until January 10 for the party to meet Chief Minister N Biren Singh. The subsequent decision to permit Hapta Kangjeibung ground came with restrictions on the number of participants. It left the Congress party in a quandary over event logistics.

Congress’s Response
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge will inaugurate the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra in Manipur. Demonstrating the party’s tenacity in the face of procedural obstacles. The decision to proceed with the Yatra, despite the initial roadblocks, underscores the political significance attached to this ambitious journey.

Routes and Culminations
While the starting point has shifted, the route of the Yatra remains unchanged. Spanning 6,713 kilometers and 67 days and crossing 110 districts across 15 states. The Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra promises to be a compelling exploration of India’s diverse landscapes and communities. The conclusion in Mumbai on March 20 will mark the end of this extensive journey. Symbolizing a political pilgrimage that transcends geographical boundaries.

As Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra sets forth on its winding path, the controversy surrounding its commencement adds to the intrigue. The resilience of the Congress party shines through as they navigate administrative roadblocks. It showcases their determination to connect with the diverse fabric of the nation. The outcome of whether this Yatra serves as a unifying force or amplifies existing divisions remains uncertain. However, one thing is certain – the journey itself is bound to be as captivating as the destination.
