Ministry of Interior Announces Visa Resumption, Unveils Conditions and Eligibility Criteria

Kuwait City: The Ministry of Interior has announced the resumption of visit visa issuance for family, commercial, and tourism purposes, effective Wednesday. The decision is per the directives of the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense, and acting Minister of Interior, Sheikh Fahd Yusuf Al-Sabah.

The ministry dedicates itself to promoting trade, business, and tourism in the nation while taking into account social concerns.. According to the ministry’s statement, residency affairs departments across various governorates will entertain visa applications, requiring applicants to schedule appointments through the Matta platform.

Conditions for Family Visit Visas

The issuance of visit visas for family members is subject to specific conditions:

  • The authorities grant visas to parents, spouses, and children of expatriate workers, provided the applicants’ monthly salary meets the requirements.
  • Applicants must fulfill certain terms and conditions, including presenting roundtrip tickets on national carrier airlines and a written commitment not to convert the visit into residency.
  • Additionally, visitors must pledge to adhere to the designated visit duration and seek medical treatment exclusively at private healthcare facilities.

Commercial Visas

Commercial visas are granted upon request from Kuwaiti companies or institutions. They are tailored to individuals with university or technical qualifications aligned with the company’s activities.

Tourist Visas

Tourists from 53 countries can apply for tourist visas at the port of entry or through an online application before arrival. Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) residents may also be eligible for tourist visas depending on certain occupations and laws.
